This week went by pretty slow. The kids still have runny noses, but not too bad. Zach and I both caught something. I have a really sore throat and a cough. Zach has more of the
nose/allergy stuff. We've both felt under the weather, so we've tried to go to bed early and rest as much as possible. We went to the cabin Saturday for the day. The kids played and then took naps. Cameron and Zach hiked down to the lake. Cameron got to pee in the water and thought that was really neat!! Boys!!
This morning we went to church and we are about to leave to go get Trevor's 9 month pictures taken. A teacher at my work takes pictures outdoors, so we are going to try her this time. Much cheaper and maybe some nice outdoor pics too. We're doing it at Willodene and Jim's house because they have such a nice yard. I hope Trevor looks at the camera some, rather than just eating grass. We shall see!! Then, if the kids are in good spirits (and we feel okay) we will go to a puppet show the church is putting on for the kids. Weekends just fly by too fast!

My first week of school has come and gone. It was a very tiring week!! I felt so exhausted each night. I always forget how tiring it is to teach kindergarten at the beginning of the year. So far, I think I have a pretty good class, so I'm looking forward to a good year.
We went to Kart Kountry on Saturday with the kids. Cameron loved playing mini-golf and then got to ride in go-karts and bumper boats. Trevor was too young for the go-karts, but they let him go on the bumper cars, both kids had to wear life vests. Trevor didn't like his at first, but once we got going on the boat, he was falling asleep from the noise and vibration. When the kids woke up from their naps, we took them to a nearby park to play. It was a really nice park, however, our stay was short-lived since we got a call saying Lennon had escaped again. So, we had to go get him. That night we got out the walker thing we have for Trevor. He walked with it with no problem. We videoed the first few tries. Now he can go back and forth across the entire downstairs!! He will be walking soon. I'm guessing in another month or so.
Today we went to our babysitters church. We really enjoyed it. Cameron screamed the whole way home because he wanted to go back! It was a very small church, lots of singing, and lots was said we could apply to our lives. Much different than the large church we have tried to go to. Trevor started getting a runny nose yesterday. Today it's still running like a faucet and his left eye is leaking a lot too. Hopefully he won't get too sick and this will run it's course and be gone soon! I would be really grateful if Cameron didn't catch it!

Erin's Visit

The kids are obviously both healthy now. They were sick for an entire week!! My sister came to visit last weekend. The night she arrived, Cameron had 106 temp. Luckily, it broke that night and never returned!
It was really great to see Erin! I wish she lived closer. Hopefully she will move here one day soon. Cameron absolutely adores her and wants her to do everything with him. The picture of him holding onto the rails is him watching Erin mow the grass. He was yelling for her to come back and wouldn't go in the cabin without her. So cute! We didn't do much while she was here, but we did spend a lot of time together with the kids and my mom and Erin. So, that was really nice. Erin, my mom and I went out on the Belle of Louisville. They do a lunch buffet and go up the Ohio River. I'll post a picture when I get one. My mom left a couple days ago to head back to California. She will be back in KY in October through the kids birthdays. The kids and I will really miss her.
I start school Monday, kids start Tuesday. My school is a mess with construction, it is going to be an interesting year. The boys and I went to Henry's Ark today to feed the animals, but it was closed, so we went to play with Wynton for a little bit and have lunch. Cameron loves seeing Wynton. Then, at nap time, the boys went with Zach to visit his parents. I'm home cleaning the entire house and my car. Fun, I know! I'm hoping to take some time to rest and maybe get some school work done as well. I'll post some other pictures of the weekend once I get some. I didn't have a camera, so I'm waiting on them from Erin and mom.
Trevor got his first sucker. It was Cameron's, but he left it on the floor and Trevor got it. I watched him to make sure he wouldn't choke, but he just loved it! He won't have another until Halloween. :)

Sick Kids

Well, it's been some time since I've updated. Things are just so busy this summer! Both boys have been sick with high fevers and rash for 5 days. Cameron is finally feeling better and fever free, but Trevor is still not back to himself yet and has a horrible rash. It's really hard having two young kids sick at the same time, they both want to be held and are both fussy. Plus, these high temps are pretty scary! Both boys were taken to the doctor. Trevor is now 21 pounds! I had to get some 18 month clothing for him, he's so long! Cameron lost a little weight and is 28 pounds.
My sister is coming late tonight. We have really been looking forward to her visit. I hope the boys get to feeling better so they can play and be their cute selves for her. (Hopefully we didn't catch whatever the boys have.)
I'm trying to get my classroom together and first day paperwork and stuff. I can't believe my summer is over already.
Cameron's yearly lab work and x-rays came back. All blood work looked fine. His x-ray of his chest didn't show anything too bad, but did show what you would see with a child with chronic asthma.

Look at those eyes!!

I can't believe how fast the summer is flying by! I already have my first school event next week. The following week I have to get my room together and then after that starts our PDs and then school. It just goes too fast! Since my last update we have done a bunch.
Cameron spent the night at the cabin with Grandma and Grandpa before Grandpa had to go back to Cali. While he was gone, Zach and I decided to take Trevor to the movies for the first time. We never get to go and thought if we went after his bedtime, he'd sleep through the whole thing. Trevor is the lightest sleeper ever and we saw Transformers. However, he did fall asleep before it started and slept through the whole thing. It worked out! I also went to a pool for the day with two friends and their little babies. Trevor seemed so big next to them. All Trevor wanted to do was eat the grass. But, he did well and loved swimming!! Zach and I got to go to a wedding reception, while my mom watched the boys, which was nice.
Trevor has grown SOOOOOO much! He is now a very good crawler! He makes it across the room in no time. He has also learned how to pull himself up. So, he crawls over to our legs and pulls himself up and reaches for us. It's so cute! I'm a bit sad that he's so mobile so fast, but it is pretty cute. He can get to Cameron's toys very quickly, which Cameron does not like and is not used to yet. He does not want to share with his little brother. They can now take baths together, Trevor does not need the baby thing in the bath anymore. They are so cute and Trevor loves baths just like Cam always has.
Zach had a bike race. It was my first time going with both boys. My mom ended up coming to help, which was very nice. Unfortunately, Zach's tire got a flat and he had to stop mid-race. He was bummed! He has another race this Sunday. I'm going to leave the boys with my mom and go cheer him on alone. This will be the last one my mom is in town for and it's out of town, so it will be a lot easier without the boys.
After Zach's race we took the kids to the park. They have a little water thing and Trevor put his feet in. He thought that was neat. Cameron didn't want to get anywhere near the water. He just enjoyed the slides and swings.
Cameron got a CARS backpack when we went to Florida. He loves the thing. He wears it all the time and says he's going to school. It's cute. He has learned all of his letter sounds except two from the Leap Frog songs. Now we just have to work on recognizing the letters.
Just yesterday, Mark and Quinn, Zach's uncle and cousin, stopped by on their way to Northern KY. They have moved back from Belize! It was nice for them to meet Trevor and spend some time with the kids. Trevor loved both Mark and Quinn and Cameron is always a sucker for the young ladies!! He was making all kinds of weird noises trying to impress Quinn. It's funny.
I think that's all the updates for now.

4th of July Weekend

Another eventful weekend! Friday Zach and I took the kids to the zoo. We ended up meeting Heather and Wynton there, which Cameron loved! Later that day we took the kids to the pool in our neighborhood. Trevor got in a pool for the first time. He loved being in the water and floating around the little kids pool. Cameron played and didn't want to leave. Then, we decided to stay home for the 4th of July. We originally planned to go to a party, but with the weather being rainy and Cameron not being in a great mood that day, we decided to stay home. After the kids' naps we went up to buy a few fireworks. Our neighborhood has so many large fireworks, you'd think you were at a big park! Cameron loved throwing the poppers and watching the fireworks! I got him some glow in the dark bracelets (which we turned into necklaces) and some small flags. He loved them (and is still sleeping with them). It was pretty fun. Then today we went out to the cabin to see Grandma and Grandpa Hoeptner. They got a new playground that they just spent 10 hours putting up and a blow up pool, but it was rainy all day, so we never got out except to give the slide a try. Cam will have to play out there more later in the week. We just spent the rest of the day hanging out at the cabin before coming home for dinner and therapy. Great weekend!

Florida Trip

Our trip to Florida was a success. At the last minute we decided not to bring baby Trevor. We had such a hot spell here in KY and the weather looked worse in Florida with the increased humidity. Trevor had been sick one day and we thought it was from the heat. My mom offered to keep him and after lots of going back and forth about it we decided to leave him. I missed him so much, but I think Cameron got a lot of special time with us and his grandparents and Trevor got a lot of special time with his other grandparents. Cameron seemed to enjoy himself the entire time! He was healthy the whole trip, slept well, and loved spending time with his Grandma and Grandpa Herzog. One day we went goofy golfing for the first time with Cam and he just loved it!! Zach's Aunt, Uncle, and Cousin Kendra came for the weekend while we were there. It was great to see them and Cameron fell in love with Kendra. He still talks about her each day and asks me where she is. Zach and I were able to get a few times out by ourselves, which was really nice. I got to go shopping for myself for probably the first time since the kids were born. We went to a movie....the beach a few times. The weather wasn't nearly as hot as I thought it would be, but it was humid and rained a bit. It was nice to get away though. I wish there was a beach closer to us so I could go more!!

Father's Day

The week went well for us! I was home with the boys after we got back from Chicago. We spent Friday outside in the pool and playing with probably every toy in the house!!

Saturday we went to a BBQ fest in Indiana. My mom came along because she loves BBQ. Unfortunately, we got there after many people closed up because awards were starting, but we still got some BBQ and Cameron was able to go on some jumper things. He loved that. We were all so hot we had to go for some Dairy Queen after. Cameron loved his ice cream!

Today we went to Incredible Dave's. We got there right when it opened and were the only people there. Cameron got to go on all the inflatable jumpers for free and go in the obstacle coarse with us. He had so much fun...and so did we! Cameron told Zach, "Happy Father's Day" all day long. It was so sweet. I told him to cherish it because we may not get that in a few years. After naps we went to get Zach some tank tops for our Florida trip and then
gave Cameron his first hair cut!!! People keep commenting on his curl in the back of his head when we're out places. He has way more hair down the middle of his head. So, I finally decided to give him a cut. I did it myself and buzzed the bottom and around his ears. He was such a good boy and was excited that he got "buzzed." I guess for most of you it's hard to tell he got a cut, but we can tell and I kept a lock of hair for his baby book. It probably won't get cut again for another 2 years. We'll see!!
