Birthday Party

Today we had the boys' birthday party. Cameron is going to turn 3 years old tomorrow and next Friday, Trevor will be 1. I can't believe how fast time flies!! Right now, I just can't believe that my baby is going to be 3 years old in just a few hours. When I tucked him in tonight he told me he wanted to be 3 years old now and that he was NOT my "baby." He said he's a big boy. And he is! But, he will always be my baby. It's so different how it feels when you are a parent. My children's birthday's are so much more important and feel so much different than when I have a birthday. I guess it's because I remember the moment they were born and all the feelings that were there....I just can't believe my baby is 3!!!!! Enough rambling....back to the birthday party.
We had Cameron's friends from his babysitters: Grant, Austin, and Caleb, plus his friends that are children of our friends, Wynton, Lucas, his cousin Sam, and our neighbor Bradley. He had so much fun with all the kids. Zach made an obstacle course in the backyard for the boys. We had a pinata and pin the tail on the donkey. The kids seemed to be entertained the entire time and got along pretty well. I thought it was a very successful party. There were no meltdowns. My mom was here and Zach's parents came. We had our small house filled, but luckily it was such a nice day, the kids were able to play outside a lot of the time. The boys all loved the party favors and some punching balloons I got. The only small glitch was that Cameron did not want to open gifts. He just wanted to play with everyone and play outside. He usually loves opening things, but today he was just so excited about the party, he wasn't as into the gifts. Plus, once he started opening things, he wanted to play with them the moment he opened them, so it was hard to move onto the next thing. After everyone left, we finished opening the gifts for the kids. They got so many great gifts that they love and will use for many hours to come. I'm even excited to have some new toys in the house to change things up a bit. Both boys crashed easily tonight. Cameron can't wait to get up in the morning to play with all of his new toys.
Since tomorrow is Cameron's actual birthday, we will do our family celebration. We will give him our gifts and go to church in the morning, then go to the zoo in the afternoon if that's still what he wants to do. It's supposed to be in the 70s, so this is a great chance to be outside and enjoy the beautiful weather!

Cameron's New Bike

Cameron got a bike from Grandma and Grandpa Hoeptner. He was so excited! Trevor got the hand-me-down bike and he loved that!

Fun at the Cabin

Huber's and Slow Poke

Trick-or-Treating and Pumpkin Carving

Cameron thought getting the seeds out of the pumpkins was discusting! Same as he's felt each year! Trevor, however, loved it!! He got stuff out with his hands, tried to put it in his mouth, used the scoop to get seeds and goop out. It was funny!

Happy Halloween

I know it has been forever since I have updated. I didn't think anyone was keeping up with the site much with facebook and all. We have done the Zoo Halloween, my school trick or treating, and trick or treating around the block. Cameron was really into it this year. Cameron is a dinosaur and Trevor is Tigger.
I celebrated my 30th birthday yesterday evening. Zach took me out to Jack Fry's for a nice meal and then we met friends for some drinks. It was a lot of fun and nice to be out for the night. My parents were nice enough to watch our kids ALL day. They both have a bad cough and sinus congestion, so they didn't go to the babysitters. Trevor has an ear infection and Cameron's cold has caused his respiratory issues to get worse than we've heard probably in the last year. His cough is bad. So, they are both on antibiotics and Cam's on increased therapy.
Cameron is cuter than ever. He just knows so much now. He uses huge words and I am constantly surprised by the things he is saying and that he does. He is growing up so fast! He got a new two wheel bike for his birthday from his grandma and grandpa Hoeptner. It is Lightening McQueen, so of course he freaked out when he got it. Since my dad had to go back home today, we let Cam open his bike gift early so he could see him ride it. He got right on and LOVES it!! He goes so fast and hardly uses the training wheels. It's so cute! He's so big now!
Trevor is also growing fast and becoming a smart little boy! He can wave 'bye-bye' and say it now. He pretends to talk on a phone and pushes cars around and makes car noises. He is a very busy boy and gets into things quickly! He is not walking yet, he just pushes things around. He's such a fast crawler, I think he's just sticking with that for a while. I'll upload some pictures tomorrow. I'm on my new laptop right now and can't download pics here yet.

It's been a couple weeks since I updated.

Last weekend Zach went home for a bachelor party. I met with my Steel Magnolias group to make earrings for the CF Gala. They will be the center pieces for the tables and then auctioned off. I bought some supplies myself. I may sell them to raise CF money.....people can just offer a donation for a pair. I won't be doing concessions this year, so I'm trying to come up with some other things to make up that fundraiser.
Anyway, I took the kids and Wynton to Henry's Arc last weekend. Many of the animals were loose, so it was very interesting! The kids were scared of the donkeys running around, but okay with the ducks and goats following us. It was pretty funny.
This week Trevor has had a runny nose and cough. Since it's been an entire week, I decided to take him to the doctor this morning. They gave him an antibiotic, so hopefully that will help. Cameron has started a cough of his own the last two days, so I'm hoping he doesn't get as bad as Trevor is because it will take a long time for him to fight this and it is so much harder on his lungs! Zach and I were both sick for so long after the kids were sick last time, then I threw my back out this last week....I hope we don't catch this new sickness, it feels like we are constantly sick! I need some vitamins!

This week went by pretty slow. The kids still have runny noses, but not too bad. Zach and I both caught something. I have a really sore throat and a cough. Zach has more of the
nose/allergy stuff. We've both felt under the weather, so we've tried to go to bed early and rest as much as possible. We went to the cabin Saturday for the day. The kids played and then took naps. Cameron and Zach hiked down to the lake. Cameron got to pee in the water and thought that was really neat!! Boys!!
This morning we went to church and we are about to leave to go get Trevor's 9 month pictures taken. A teacher at my work takes pictures outdoors, so we are going to try her this time. Much cheaper and maybe some nice outdoor pics too. We're doing it at Willodene and Jim's house because they have such a nice yard. I hope Trevor looks at the camera some, rather than just eating grass. We shall see!! Then, if the kids are in good spirits (and we feel okay) we will go to a puppet show the church is putting on for the kids. Weekends just fly by too fast!

My first week of school has come and gone. It was a very tiring week!! I felt so exhausted each night. I always forget how tiring it is to teach kindergarten at the beginning of the year. So far, I think I have a pretty good class, so I'm looking forward to a good year.
We went to Kart Kountry on Saturday with the kids. Cameron loved playing mini-golf and then got to ride in go-karts and bumper boats. Trevor was too young for the go-karts, but they let him go on the bumper cars, both kids had to wear life vests. Trevor didn't like his at first, but once we got going on the boat, he was falling asleep from the noise and vibration. When the kids woke up from their naps, we took them to a nearby park to play. It was a really nice park, however, our stay was short-lived since we got a call saying Lennon had escaped again. So, we had to go get him. That night we got out the walker thing we have for Trevor. He walked with it with no problem. We videoed the first few tries. Now he can go back and forth across the entire downstairs!! He will be walking soon. I'm guessing in another month or so.
Today we went to our babysitters church. We really enjoyed it. Cameron screamed the whole way home because he wanted to go back! It was a very small church, lots of singing, and lots was said we could apply to our lives. Much different than the large church we have tried to go to. Trevor started getting a runny nose yesterday. Today it's still running like a faucet and his left eye is leaking a lot too. Hopefully he won't get too sick and this will run it's course and be gone soon! I would be really grateful if Cameron didn't catch it!

Erin's Visit

The kids are obviously both healthy now. They were sick for an entire week!! My sister came to visit last weekend. The night she arrived, Cameron had 106 temp. Luckily, it broke that night and never returned!
It was really great to see Erin! I wish she lived closer. Hopefully she will move here one day soon. Cameron absolutely adores her and wants her to do everything with him. The picture of him holding onto the rails is him watching Erin mow the grass. He was yelling for her to come back and wouldn't go in the cabin without her. So cute! We didn't do much while she was here, but we did spend a lot of time together with the kids and my mom and Erin. So, that was really nice. Erin, my mom and I went out on the Belle of Louisville. They do a lunch buffet and go up the Ohio River. I'll post a picture when I get one. My mom left a couple days ago to head back to California. She will be back in KY in October through the kids birthdays. The kids and I will really miss her.
I start school Monday, kids start Tuesday. My school is a mess with construction, it is going to be an interesting year. The boys and I went to Henry's Ark today to feed the animals, but it was closed, so we went to play with Wynton for a little bit and have lunch. Cameron loves seeing Wynton. Then, at nap time, the boys went with Zach to visit his parents. I'm home cleaning the entire house and my car. Fun, I know! I'm hoping to take some time to rest and maybe get some school work done as well. I'll post some other pictures of the weekend once I get some. I didn't have a camera, so I'm waiting on them from Erin and mom.
Trevor got his first sucker. It was Cameron's, but he left it on the floor and Trevor got it. I watched him to make sure he wouldn't choke, but he just loved it! He won't have another until Halloween. :)

Sick Kids

Well, it's been some time since I've updated. Things are just so busy this summer! Both boys have been sick with high fevers and rash for 5 days. Cameron is finally feeling better and fever free, but Trevor is still not back to himself yet and has a horrible rash. It's really hard having two young kids sick at the same time, they both want to be held and are both fussy. Plus, these high temps are pretty scary! Both boys were taken to the doctor. Trevor is now 21 pounds! I had to get some 18 month clothing for him, he's so long! Cameron lost a little weight and is 28 pounds.
My sister is coming late tonight. We have really been looking forward to her visit. I hope the boys get to feeling better so they can play and be their cute selves for her. (Hopefully we didn't catch whatever the boys have.)
I'm trying to get my classroom together and first day paperwork and stuff. I can't believe my summer is over already.
Cameron's yearly lab work and x-rays came back. All blood work looked fine. His x-ray of his chest didn't show anything too bad, but did show what you would see with a child with chronic asthma.
