Fun with Friends

This week is my time to see some people I haven't been able to visit with for years!! Yesterday we went to visit my friend Kelley and her family. The boys got to play with her two boys, Ethan and Grady. Cameron loved having someone to play with and threw a fit when it was time to go. I wish there was more time to do catch up with everyone. Things are just harder with the kids schedules and stuff. It was nice though.
Today my friends Lis and Katie came over to visit with their kids. Cameron was a little difficult about sharing toys at first, but they seemed to get along well. It was nice to see high school friends. It has been just too long! The kids are all so adorable and everyone looked great.

We took the kids on a walk to our Elementary School so they could play on the equipment. So, Erin and I took a picture of us by the sign....this is us 20 years after we went to school there. Crazy!

We celebrated Christmas on the 26th. My mom's side of the family came over in the morning and my dad's side in the afternoon. We were able to meet my cousin Jamie's new baby and also see both cousin's husbands who we haven't been able to spend much time with before this. My grandma was able to finally meet Trevor, which was nice to see. The kids had a ton of fun and got some neat things. Cameron really loves his Aunt Erin and is really going to miss her! I haven't been home for Christmas in three years, so it was nice to be able to see all of my family and spend the holiday with them!

Disneyland

My parents got us tickets and took us to Disneyland for Christmas. We went on Christmas Eve and surprisingly had a lot smaller crowd than we were expecting. The beginning was a little hard for Cameron to get used to having to wait and what we were doing, but once we got going, we all had a great time. Trevor loved seeing all of the people and all of the sights!! He hardly blinked when we were on rides, he was so excited. He laughed and waved his arms around how he dances. It was so cute! He also LOVED Mickey Mouse!! He couldn't stop touching his nose and he also gave him kisses. Cameron said hi to Mickey and was happy to see him, but didn't say too much, then waved bye-bye. Cameron enjoyed going on rides...some he really liked, others not as much. Trevor had a few naps, Cameron finally fell asleep during one of the rides and slept for a good couple hours. We thought he'd love the parade, but he fell asleep right before it and we weren't about to wake him up since we were staying late. We were there about 12 hours and got on more rides than I can count. Zach and I were able to go on a bunch of rides that the kids were too small for too. Our favorite was Splash Mountain. It was getting cold when we went, but no one came off the ride with more than a few water drops. Not the case for me!!! I had hardly a dry spot on me, so I had to buy some Mickey pj's to wear home because my jeans were way too wet and cold to make it another 4 hours. Regardless, it was fun. The kids both passed out on the way home and we all are a little sore today (my arms mostly from carrying sleeping babies and stuff).

Shell Beach

Soon after our arrival to San Diego, Cameron, Zach, and I headed North to visit Erin. She is living in Shell Beach right now, a very cute beach town. You can see the Ocean from her balcony. It is so cute and so beautiful!! Cameron loved seeing his Aunt Erin. We went walking around the beaches there and in a bunch of the shops. We got some good food and did some wine tasting. Cameron was a very good sport during the wine tasting....he had his share of chocolate tasting!! Plus, there were animals at both places we went which kept him pretty occupied. The drive went amazingly fast and Cameron was very good going both directions! Today Zach and I are heading to Teo Leos....my favorite Mexican restaurant here in San Diego. We are meeting one of my high school friends and his wife. It is so hard to see people because it's rare we are all in town at the same time. So, I'm excited. Tomorrow we are headed to ......DISNEYLAND!!

Arrived in San Diego

We have arrived!! Saturday was a very long day, but all in all the kids did great on the airplane. Both boys have been completely entertained with the toys that are here. It's always nice to have new toys to play with. My mom borrowed some things from a friend so they had things for the two weeks we would be visiting. Cameron has really enjoyed playing on the boulders at the bottom of our driveway. My sister and I used to play on these all the time when we were kids. Ah, it makes me feel old!! Trevor is taking steps to go between things, but still falls after a few steps. Slowly but surely...he's almost there!! I got him a new pair of shoes that he can walk in so that he has something to wear outside now.

Last weekend we got together with our friends that have two kids about the same age as ours. It was so neat to see them play. Trevor has never been around someone his age and he was so excited. They were very cute together! It's always nice to get together with friends.
Tonight we opened gifts with the kids. We have a busy day tomorrow and then have family Christmas things, so we needed to do it early with the kids. Cameron was SOOOOO excited. He tore through all his gifts and was completely occupied playing with them. We couldn't put them out until opening time because Trevor wanted to wear into all of them as well and he didn't get that he couldn't until it was time.
I'm very excited to go home, I haven't been to Cali for Christmas in years and I haven't been there to visit in 18+ months. So, it will be nice! Hopefully I can download some pictures from the trip as we do things.

Santa Safari

Saturday, we all went to the Zoo to see Santa. They did a new thing this year that lasted about 2 hours and it was really neat. I was wishing I hadn't bought tickets, but now I'm so glad we did. Cameron got to meet a reindeer, which he thought was so cool! Then, we went into this decorated room where we had hot chocolate and punch. The kids decorated an ornament and looked at all the neat things in the room. Mrs. Clause came out and gave everyone a snowman shaped cookie and then we sang some Christmas carols. I know, it sounds cheesy as can be, but Cameron was smiling the whole time and had a lot of fun! When we sang "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," he came in the room. They called us by tables to do pictures and gave us pictures of the kids with Santa. Cameron asked for the car, Boost, from the movie. We can't find it anywhere, we are now bidding on E-Bay for the thing. He thought he'd get it right then and wanted to know where it was. It was funny. I didn't think Cam would get on Santa's lap. There were other young kids crying and I was going to put them on his lap, crying or not really quickly, but both kids did great. We had to take them off his lap.
Later, they brought in a penguin that the kids could look at up close and Cam loved that too. He said the penguin was 'beautiful.' Then, we went on a safari....the kids had to go to 7 stations in different buildings and get a stamp there. At each station they had an animal out that they could learn about and touch. It was really neat and Cameron was pretty excited about it.

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a very nice Thanksgiving Day! Everyone was healthy for once, which made us VERY thankful. We spent the day together as a family. We made a dinner for just the 4 of us. Trevor loves it all, but especially the stuffing and Cameron really only liked the mashed potatoes and green beans. That's okay though! After our meal we played "Crack the Ice" with Cameron. It was a game he got for his birthday. He thought that was a lot of fun! He's at a good age to start playing some games now. We did miss the big family events on this day, but it was very relaxing and nice to be at home and not worry about traveling and all. It was good to spend the whole day together, our schedule seems to stay so busy, we don't get to do that often. Tomorrow Zach's family is coming to go to the horse races, it's the last weekend at the track. I'm going to stay with the boys since it's during their nap time. Trevor spiked a fever today for some reason, so we're hoping it's a short term thing. He doesn't have any more teeth popping through, so I don't think it's that this time. Zach got the Christmas tree out today and all of our boxes. I'm not going to put up all the lights around the house as I usually do. We need to conserve energy, right? The house will be festive though. It's fun with the boys. They played with the musical animals today. Very cute!

I'm on my fall break this week, which has been great! I can't believe tomorrow is Thursday already, the time is just flying by! I have been able to do some organizing in the house and finish up a bunch of jewelry that people have asked for. The best part has been playing with the boys. They have both been so well behaved and happy. They've taken good naps (I even got a nap for myself today). I made lasagna the other night and both boys love it, but Trevor really likes it!! He had more than I did. Of course, he also wore more of it....lasagna = bath night. I also put a picture from last weekend. We went to the cabin to spend time with my mom and help with some things around the yard before she left to go back to California. She had to watch the boys for 2-3 weeks for us while our babysitter had an emergency, so she didn't get done what she needed while she was here. Trevor went down the slide all by himself. Jim (one of the babysitters) taught Cameron how to go backwards to scoot down the two stairs from their kitchen so now he can get around better. He goes backwards down the slide. It's so cute. It's just so neat seeing babies do things for the first time. Trevor points to what he wants and imitates people very well now. He's drinking from a regular cup now...all bottles thrown away for good!!

1 Year and 3 Year Photo Session

Birthdays

Cameron had his birthday on Sunday, the 8th. Trevor has his on Friday the 13th. The boys are both feeling much better now. Trevor still has a cough, but Cameron sounds great!! I got sick AGAIN on Friday. We just can't get all of us healthy at one time! So, I was sent home from work and spent most of the day sleeping. Trevor has a few new toys now, which of course Cameron loves too. It's hard for Cameron to understand that he can't always have whatever Trevor is playing with. Trevor got another tooth, so he now has 5. We started him on milk. As long as it is room temperature and not too cold, he drinks it great. Next comes the sippy cup. Then on to the pacifier. One thing at a time! Cameron has been loving his bike. He's really fast now, Zach has a hard time keeping up with him. It will be hard once the weather gets cold. Both boys go in for their 1yr and 3 yr shots tomorrow. Fun!

Saturday I went to the Bullitt Central Winter Craft Show to sell my jewelry. I was hoping to do better, but I did make a couple hundred dollars to go towards CF. I need to find other avenues to sell it. We've done better selling to people we know at work and then them telling their friends. So, be sure to spread the word! Today Cameron and I went out for a while. I have been on the hunt for advent calendars for the boys for December. I finally found them at Target. Cameron asked all kinds of questions about Santa...where he is, how he gets here, how he will get in the house. He's worried about Santa falling on his head. Silly! It's cute. Christmas will be so fun with the kids this year, I'm excited.
