Happy Thanksgiving
Wednesday, November 25, 2009
I'm on my fall break this week, which has been great! I can't believe tomorrow is Thursday already, the time is just flying by! I have been able to do some organizing in the house and finish up a bunch of jewelry that people have asked for. The best part has been playing with the boys. They have both been so well behaved and happy. They've taken good naps (I even got a nap for myself today). I made lasagna the other night and both boys love it, but Trevor really likes it!! He had more than I did. Of course, he also wore more of it....lasagna = bath night. I also put a picture from last weekend. We went to the cabin to spend time with my mom and help with some things around the yard before she left to go back to California. She had to watch the boys for 2-3 weeks for us while our babysitter had an emergency, so she didn't get done what she needed while she was here. Trevor went down the slide all by himself. Jim (one of the babysitters) taught Cameron how to go backwards to scoot down the two stairs from their kitchen so now he can get around better. He goes backwards down the slide. It's so cute. It's just so neat seeing babies do things for the first time. Trevor points to what he wants and imitates people very well now. He's drinking from a regular cup now...all bottles thrown away for good!!

Birthdays
Cameron had his birthday on Sunday, the 8th. Trevor has his on Friday the 13th. The boys are both feeling much better now. Trevor still has a cough, but Cameron sounds great!! I got sick AGAIN on Friday. We just can't get all of us healthy at one time! So, I was sent home from work and spent most of the day sleeping. Trevor has a few new toys now, which of course Cameron loves too. It's hard for Cameron to understand that he can't always have whatever Trevor is playing with. Trevor got another tooth, so he now has 5. We started him on milk. As long as it is room temperature and not too cold, he drinks it great. Next comes the sippy cup. Then on to the pacifier. One thing at a time! Cameron has been loving his bike. He's really fast now, Zach has a hard time keeping up with him. It will be hard once the weather gets cold. Both boys go in for their 1yr and 3 yr shots tomorrow. Fun!
Saturday I went to the Bullitt Central Winter Craft Show to sell my jewelry. I was hoping to do better, but I did make a couple hundred dollars to go towards CF. I need to find other avenues to sell it. We've done better selling to people we know at work and then them telling their friends. So, be sure to spread the word! Today Cameron and I went out for a while. I have been on the hunt for advent calendars for the boys for December. I finally found them at Target. Cameron asked all kinds of questions about Santa...where he is, how he gets here, how he will get in the house. He's worried about Santa falling on his head. Silly! It's cute. Christmas will be so fun with the kids this year, I'm excited.

Birthday Party
Today we had the boys' birthday party. Cameron is going to turn 3 years old tomorrow and next Friday, Trevor will be 1. I can't believe how fast time flies!! Right now, I just can't believe that my baby is going to be 3 years old in just a few hours. When I tucked him in tonight he told me he wanted to be 3 years old now and that he was NOT my "baby." He said he's a big boy. And he is! But, he will always be my baby. It's so different how it feels when you are a parent. My children's birthday's are so much more important and feel so much different than when I have a birthday. I guess it's because I remember the moment they were born and all the feelings that were there....I just can't believe my baby is 3!!!!! Enough rambling....back to the birthday party.
We had Cameron's friends from his babysitters: Grant, Austin, and Caleb, plus his friends that are children of our friends, Wynton, Lucas, his cousin Sam, and our neighbor Bradley. He had so much fun with all the kids. Zach made an obstacle course in the backyard for the boys. We had a pinata and pin the tail on the donkey. The kids seemed to be entertained the entire time and got along pretty well. I thought it was a very successful party. There were no meltdowns. My mom was here and Zach's parents came. We had our small house filled, but luckily it was such a nice day, the kids were able to play outside a lot of the time. The boys all loved the party favors and some punching balloons I got. The only small glitch was that Cameron did not want to open gifts. He just wanted to play with everyone and play outside. He usually loves opening things, but today he was just so excited about the party, he wasn't as into the gifts. Plus, once he started opening things, he wanted to play with them the moment he opened them, so it was hard to move onto the next thing. After everyone left, we finished opening the gifts for the kids. They got so many great gifts that they love and will use for many hours to come. I'm even excited to have some new toys in the house to change things up a bit. Both boys crashed easily tonight. Cameron can't wait to get up in the morning to play with all of his new toys.
Since tomorrow is Cameron's actual birthday, we will do our family celebration. We will give him our gifts and go to church in the morning, then go to the zoo in the afternoon if that's still what he wants to do. It's supposed to be in the 70s, so this is a great chance to be outside and enjoy the beautiful weather!
